Review:

The contrast between the serenity of nature and the chaos of the Strip makes the crimson colored cliffs of Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area the perfect location for tourists to take a breather. Located 15 miles west of the Strip, a drive along the 13 mile loop road leads to the birdseye view of fossilized sand dunes, desert beauty and the scenic red rock formations which can tower as high as 3,000 feet, leaving onlookers awestruck. The park is also perfect for family picnics, rock-climbing and horseback riding. Do not miss a visit to the Keystone Thrust Fault, where limestone grey and deep red rocks form a magnificent color contrast; a natural beauty created when the tectonic plates of the earth collided, all those millions of years ago. As you explore the 30 mile trail, you and your kids will be entranced by the vastness of it all. Some wild species of rabbit, horse, bobcat, hummingbird, hawk and 200 others are unique to the area. Some months of the year, you may find waterfalls drifting between the sandstones. This a great learning experience for both parents and kids.
