Review:

Located at the heart of three desert ecosystems, Lake Mead has a scenery conducive for family activities. You will find thousands of varieties of plants and animals in the 1.5 million acres of land and 820 miles of shoreline. You and your kids can enjoy an endless choice of water recreations like boating, kayaking, swimming, canoeing, sport fishing, water skiing and many more, available all year round. Children can earn a Junior Ranger badge and certificate by completing a number of activities in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Junior Ranger Guide and Activity Book. You also have the choice of taking a hike around the desert and be captivated by the panoramic display of red sandstone and black lava rock, which date back more than 6 million years. If you opt to stay longer, there are 5 motels with full amenities available situated around the lake, as well as restaurants, cafes, campgrounds, and shaded picnic areas.

Created by the Hoover Dam, situated along the Colorado River, Lake Mead is one of the largest man made lakes in the world, an ideal spot for wildlife photographers, painters, and nature-lovers.
