Floyd Lamb Park provides a revitalizing oasis away from the heat of the Las Vegas sun and offers a perfect escape from the chaos of the city for you and your family. Its fertile foliage, cool shade, and four well-stocked ponds are perfect venues for family picnics, barbecues, ball games and fishing. Remember, you are only allowed to retain three fishes and must have a Nevada Fishing License.
Some fossils of prehistoric animals were found at the springs, proving that Nevada was once a cool and wet place rather than the desert it is now. It was also once a watering hole for American Indians to nurture their animals and vegetation.
The 2,040 acre park northwest of Las Vegas was once privately owned before firstly becoming a state park and then, finally, a city park.
